Protecting Freedom & Mobility

"One of the four best conferences I've ever attended."
- John Fund, Wall Street Journal

Do new and proposed land-use rules threaten your property rights? Are rail transit projects the best way to utilize scarce tax dollars to ease traffic congestion and resolve air quality problems? (eating away your tax dollars?) Then don't miss the Preserving the American Dream conference in Houston on May 16-18, 2008.

Join the American Dream Coalition for the "Preserving the American Dream Conference", May 16-18 at the Omni Houston Hotel. Members of HRG will be in attendance and can attend and obtain special rates for one day or the entire conference. We encourage you to come and enjoy the only national conference focusing on free-market and property-rights solutions to land-use and transportation problems. Experts from across the nation will be on hand to discuss Houston's phenomenal record, the pitfalls that have faced many other cities and the potential for Houston to be the model for other cities' prosperity and growth. You will meet dozens of national and international experts on housing affordability, mobility, zoning, and congestion. Sessions will cover such topics as global warming, peak oil, the reconstruction of New Orleans, rail transit, and changing zoning into covenants.

A special session on the future of Houston will feature City Council Member Peter Brown, Gulf Coast Institute president David Crossley, and Kendall Miller of Houstonians for Responsible Growth. The conference is cosponsored by the Cato Institute, Reason Foundation, Heritage Foundation, Texas Public Policy Foundation, and a variety of other national and local groups.
